- The lab website was launched.
- Held an online lab information session for FY2026 prospective students.
About the Lab
Our lab belongs to the Information and Communication Systems Engineering field, within the Graduate School of Regional Development and Creativity / the Course of Information Electronics and Optics (Electrical & Electronic Engineering) of the Dept. of Engineering Fundamentals / the Dept. of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Utsunomiya University, and is led by Assoc. Prof. Takashi Shimizu. We apply the many interesting properties of short-wavelength electromagnetic waves in the microwave-to-millimeter-wave/sub-THz range (roughly 1 GHz–300 GHz), with a focus on developing material characterization methods for the microwave, millimeter-wave and sub-THz bands, and on low-loss millimeter-wave/sub-THz passive circuit design. Some of our laboratory space and equipment is shared with Prof. Yoshinori Kogami's group.
